wow.. i seriously havent blogged for damn damn damn damn damn long!! haha.. my last post is dated in november 2009!! haha.. so much things happened in these few months since my last post... my last post talked about adf live firing.. now adf is back in gedong again for bx2 conversion again.. time really flies so fast wor..

as a gunnery instructor, i took the 02/09 batch of aisl cadets and the 01/10 batch of aiocc cadets, quite memorable.. they are my first batch of spec and offr trainees. or rather, they are my only batch of trainees. it has been so long since i last blogged until the batch of aisl already passed out and got posted to me already. had quite an interesting time with them, especially during the live firing whereby most of the instructors totally got drained out physically and mentally cos its 2 days straight. but quite fun la.. i learnt a lot more about the weapons during the live firing actually. but too bad, by that time jiawei, jared and dominic already went back to 40sar and 46sar. so far life as a gunnery instructor has been quite well. but well, my attachment with gtw ended on 02 march 2010.

in that short span of 5 months, so much stuff happened. but my life as a gunnery instructor ended on 02 march 2010.

on 03 march 2010. my new life started... i went back to opfor. had a short intro of what we need to do in opfor. quite a lot of stuff to do given that the whole opfor only has 6 person: OC, CSM, 2PC and me and ernest. got to know more about what we need to do in opfor, and started on a lot of things already. so far up to now i have seriously done a lot of stuff until i sort of lost count already.

on 27 april 2010, my new specs finally got posted in! i have 8 new specs.. all quite ok ba i guess.. but they will have a lot of stuff to do when they are in opfor.. now so far, we went for atp range where i did ammo ic, went for bx driving course.. and now we are having bx OMer course.. but i have been missing a lot of the OM lessons actually.. cos seriously have too much stuff to do liao.. man coming in very soon, need to do a lot of prep work beforehand... haiz.. hope i will have enough time to catch up on all the stuff that i missed...

seriously.. too much stuff happened since i got posted out on 12 oct 2009. in these 7 months, went through a lot of stuff that most nsfs wont get to experience. and its seriously too much that i dun really know how to write it down in words... but it will always be part of my memory forever i think. not many people will get to have such an exciting ns life as a nsf.. haha.


well... it has been ages (and i really meant ages) since i last blogged.. a lot of things happened since my last post..

after my att c that time.. went for section prof test, field camp.. even went overseas for 1 month... and finally after 5 months of AISL course.. i am finally a 3SG! haha...

since my coy is all ultra-trained.. most of us are posted to 40SAR as SC or VC.. but well.. lucky me got posted to ATI, my supposed posting is actually Ops Force, but cos the unit isn't up yet.. i am currently attached to Gunnery Training Wing as instructor. quite good life actually.. can get quite boring when its during the nothing-to-do period.. but gets quite fun when there are stuff to do..

i have been attached as instructor for 1+ month le.. 1st week was orientation into the wing.. 2nd to 4th week i went to keathong for OM course.. quite memorable since we got reunited with my coy ppl after being separated for 1 week after POP.. hahahz.. the 3 weeks there was quite fun.. everynight we will have our emo session at our emo corner.. but it slowly became a gossip session, and the topic is always on the same, old person.. hahahz...

went for 3 live firings so far.. the 1st one was as observer for the 41sar firing.. it was quite a shiok one even though we did nothing but just to help out with the setting up and observe the various firing.. as newly-passed-out specs.. we finally got the shiokness of being called sergeant here sergeant there (as quoted by another new 3SG in GTW) by the 4 months old man... we got a slight taste of how it will be like if we were to get posted to unit and take recruits/man.. the ultra boys also got hands-on on the BX.. did a lot of embarrassing things in front of the 41sar man.. but well.. we managed to learn quite a lot of stuff about the BX, which is quite different from the ultra in many ways.. and the small and leisure talks we had with the man turned out to be quite interesting.. and even more shocking for us and for the man when they realised that the specs are 2 years younger than them! hahah... well.. i guess my first live firing as observer was quite a fulfilling one?

2nd one was for adf.. nothing much actually cos they are all regulars.. except the impact from the firing was really much greater than most other weapons (except for the leopard's)... the 3rd live firing was quite memorable for me.. first time i was on the vehicle as safety spec.. initially was quite nervous cos 1st-timer ma.. but slowly got used to it liao.. turned out to be quite an interesting job.. the CVC turned out to be a very useful tool to chat with the firer and joke around with him to ease his nervousness before the firing, and cos they were all last cycle NSman.. they told me a lot of stories and experiences that i think is useful to me as a person in future, and u also get to know about all the stunts they did last time during their NSF days and how their training were like in the past compared to us, one hell one heaven.. hahah..

other than live firing.. got to see how we have to take the unit people for ATEC gunnery evaluation also.. quite an interesting process.. the 'by right' and 'by left' theory all came in useful i think.. haha.. and the kiasu 40sar OCs and CSMs came to observe even though 40sar will not be going for atec anytime in near future.. hahah.. i took the last cycle NSman for technical handling also.. was assigned to the 40agl.. at the start, even myself also cannot remember the drills and sequences for the weapon liao.. when the nsman came.. revise together with them on the job lorz.. i gave them a lot of stunts also during the TH, but well.. they din really cared much also.. some were really enthu to learn.. some totally dun care just wanna get through it only.. what will i be like in future when i come back for ICT i wonder? haha.. but well.. if i can manage to teach the NSman uncles the weapon drills successfullly.. i think i wont have any problems teaching the new batch of AISL trainees when they come in next week ba.. SCTs are a lot easier to teach actually.. cos they will/need/must listen to you.. and with my 3 strips, i can knock them down or recommend them extra liao! hahahz.. but i seriously doubt myself.. maybe even when I ORD i will still maintain the record of not knocking anyone down.. haha.. its just my character ba. but i will still try my best to break that record.. i should be able to force myself to go knock someone down.. haha.. lets see how ba when the trainees come next week..

well.. the new batch of AISL SCT trainees are coming in next week liao.. we will have more stuff to do rather than stoning in office everyday which i seriously cannot stand doing.. hope i will be able to teach them the various weapon system properly and have a super good relationship with them.. just like how when we were trainees our relationships with the instructors were also.. i think all these will make both parties' ns life much more memorable and fulfilling..

11DEC: the new recruits will be enlisted into 40SAR where the rest of my coy ppl are.. i already mark out that day liao.. going to go back to visit them to see how they manage the recruits... it will be fun trying to link them up with the days when we just enlisted into tekong in jan also.. its not long ago but yet it seems like we went through a lot already..

and well.. year 2009 is ending soon... (and i am posting all these cos i can forsee my next post being somewhere next year)... have been in the army for almost a year le.. and i think i am really lucky.. i seem to be getting quite a good life everywhere i go.. which made my ns life much more comfortable/memorable and exciting as compared to many others. hope i will get to experience a lot more stuff in the army.. get to try out a lot of other new things also.. and hope that if i get posted back to ops force, i will get to learn and do a lot of other stuff and make my life even more exciting and interesting.. dun think i am siao horz.. but i think since confirm plus chop have to go through ns one.. might as well make it more exciting and fulfilling right?

wahhh... i seriously havent blog for months liao... my last post still stands in April. haha. and now since I am having att C at home for chest infection, might as well blog one post.. hahahz...

well.. bslc finished liao... now its AISL (Armour Infantry Section Leader) course. the course now is not bad, except that sungei gedong camp is damn damn far...! hahahz..

just finished driving package last week... its seriously quite fun driving some old old armoured vehicle around, not like driving a civilian car around, no side mirror, no rear sight mirror, no steering wheel, no brake petal... hahahz... all we have is just 2 sticks for driving and 1 accer. petal and a range selector. hahahz... reverse dun need to look out for anything, just need to follow the hand signal of the front guide. hahahz... basically the whole vehicle is quite no-safety one.. but its seriously quite fun to speed around with this vehicle and flying up and down in the driver's seat or rolling around in the passenger compartment. hahahz...

and well this week, its super slack and boring for me. att c at home. hahahz... had fever since last wed... wed was 38.1 degrees, thurs 38.5, fri 39.1, sat 39.5, sunday night was the worst 39.8, totally cannot sleep at all in camp.. was rolling around in bed, then went to take towels and soak in water cooler freezing-cold water and put on my forehead and stuff. only managed to cool my temperature down at like 2+am. and somemore had to waste one admin tee cos my whole admin tee was totally wet from all the freezing-cold towel. my whole bed was totally wet also and i had to rotate myself 180 degrees before i could sleep properly (dry!) hahahz..

and well the next day monday, morning still ok... 37+ degrees cos of the panadol still in effect. but in the afternoon the stupid fever came back and my temp shot up to 39+ again. hahahz.. but still cannot beat yiwei... and well.. after much persuading from my bunk mates... decided to go report sick, shouldn't have done so lorz.. ended up being a super long night... went to sungei gedong MO, but MO went home liao... the medic there see I 39.8 plus coy got ppl confirmed H1N1, they are so damn scared until everyone started wearing the vest coverall with those bathing-cap lookalike. hahahz.. even the driver had to wear all those lorz.. damn kua zhang. but at least i dun have to wait for 4 person to take the rover out, got special aircon car to drive myself only to Tengah Airbase MO to see the MO there. hahahz...

anyway, I got sent to Tengah Airbase MO then see the MO there... after that the MO see my fever so long still so high dunno what to do with me, referred me to A&E! haiz... in the end I went back to camp to pack my stuff, then took the aircon car to NUH A&E... by the time i reached there its 9plus PM le... got 'locked' inside some special place for all the fever patients... hahahz... waited and waited... sat on the not-so-comfortable or actually super-duper-uncomfortable plastic chair and slept and slept until 3plus am before they called for my name... wow... seriously a super long wait... 6hrs lei! if my fever was any higher i think my head would have exploded halfway liao.

and well.. after the super-long-wait i finally got to see the doc and the doc see-see the xray then say i chest infection... then she pointed to the xray and say, u see there, like I know how chest infection looks like on xray film. hahahz.. but well.. the doc then gave me 5 days MC then ask me go collect my medicine. collected le... damn fast cos there is basically no one collecting medicine at 3+am... after that the first thing i did was to rush to the security and ask where is the canteen...! hahahz.. cos the always-hungry me is seriously damn hungry from the 6hrs wait in the all-fever-patients room.. hahahz...

well.. there goes my report sick expedition. hahahz.. damn 'exciting' but i wont wanna go through it again... and well.. this whole week at home I am just slacking at home watching my drama... and i think i am going to die soon... going to die of boredom soon... I AM SUPER DUPER BORED AT HOME!!!

well.. basically my these 5 days at home is super boring even though its just watching dramas.. hahahz... but cough also cannot cough properly got no breath. hahahz...

well.. back to my ns... now its 10 weeks into my AISL course.. still got 10-11 weeks more.. including one month in taiwan! hahahz... hope everything will go smoothly and can pass out successfully.. hahahz... and hopefully i can blog more frequently bah.. not like this post and the previous post got like 4 months gap in between! hahahz...

going back to my drama... only left 2 episodes before i complete it.. hahahz... hope to cya soon...


wow... i seriously havent blog for ages... haha... well.. its 3+ months since i first got enlisted into ns. even though its quite a short period, but i seriously think i have learnt a lot from everything that i had went through during these 3+ months.

bmt: bmt was a fun and super memorable experience. from trying to even get into the whole ns thingy, to getting used to it, until at the end whereby you are trying to find ways to slack here and there... the 9 weeks in tekong was seriously a period that i will never forget i think. there is like a whole big bunch of ppl who are going through the same process as me... and all of us, 'regardless of race, language and religion', bonded quite well together and i made quite a number of friends during bmt too. the nice scenery of changi airport during sunset will make a lot of us emo and ponder why we are even there... but ultimately at the end, because all of us are going through it together, we will cheer and encourage each other and make the whole bmt life so much more fun and exciting!

post-bmt: well.. after bmt we had this break to rest and recover... after that we will all get our postings to our new unit/vocations. and well.. i am posted to SISPEC!! hahahz.. well.. now it has already been 4 weeks since i got posted to sispec. life has been quite fun and interesting so far. i got to know a bunch of interesting bunk mates with a variety of personalities and backgrounds. they seriously made the whole of my sispec life so far so much better!... hahahz.. well.. 4 more weeks to go and after that i will be posted somewhere else again!.. I WANNA GO BACK TO TEKONG BUT I DUN WANNA GO ASLC!! hahahz... u will understand if you are in the army.. hahahz...

anyway need to go for dinner le... i will try to update more often.. hahahz... :)

wow.. time really flies so fast... 一转眼 2 weeks passed and i have survived 16 days of NS! hahahz..

well.. so far for me, ns is still quite fun and exciting.. but because of the declaration we made and the official secrets act.. cannot disclose what we did there.. for those who still dunno.. i am in Pegasus company! my platoon is super funny and we had lots of memorable time together in the 16 days.. a photo of our flag: (i found it somewhere in facebook)...

met a lot of people dhp guys in the cookhouse.. saw gabriel and mengshuen from sch1.. and basically everyone else in sch2.. it is actually quite difficult to spot people cos everyone has the same hairstyle! hahahz.. oh.. and me and danz have to cut our hair again before we booked out.. how sad..

oh.. my bunk has very nice scenery!! ok.. danz's bunk has the same view as mine.. we can see changi airport from our bunk and its a super nice view... too bad cannot take photo of it.. :(

i am performing not bad in most of the areas i think... i only missed 2 shots out of 32 for my live range (with 2 very idiotic mistakes which caused the 2 misses)... i got full marks for the practical technical handling of my rifle!!... and i can strip and assemble my rifle really quickly!.. well basically i had lots of fun and i am enjoying everyday of my life there.. hahahz.. ok.. maybe its still too early to say anything cos they never punish us a lot during our adjustment aka confinement week... hahahz...

and well.. since i was the first to enlist.. i was the first to book out also! hahahz.. i booked out on thurs! i think there were no other company that book out on thurs.. all the others all book out on fri.. and i am not the first to book in on tue! hahahz..

but i am basically quite bored at home after i book out cos nothing to do. yesterday went out with danz to beach road cos he wanted to buy his stuff... which i already bought on friday with my mum in bedok.. so i am just going there to see see only.. after that met up with wenjian and chinyang at beach road too.. then we took bus to bugis to meet anting, yokesan, gabriel, valerie, roy, jason, aaron and we had lunch at ajisen... but basically u hear most of the guys talking about army stuff.. and the rest are super bored by it.. hahahz... well.. we celebrated val's bdae too and the most memorable part.. taking photos of the few botaks!!

3rd Dec Morning

well.. all the year 6s went back to tanjong rhu campus for the graduation ceremony. it was kind of a simple ceremony where mr sng, mdm leong, baojia spoke.. and then mr sng gave out the testimonial and the cca certs. then it was buffet! hahahz... well and i only took 2 photos that morning! hahahz... one of roy and one with danz!

 

we were kind of amazed at the number of fan switches in the canteen.. so we took a photo! hahahz...

well.. it was prom... nothing much to say le la.. so many ppl said so much about it le. hahahz... tons of photos on facebook... :)

 

4th to 6th Dec

SDSC (Singapore Disability Sports Council) Sports Orientation Camp! well... it was fun! hahahz... initially i had to dragged lots of ppl to go.. but i guess all those who went had fun! hahahz.. i am sure there will be more who would go next time.. hahahz... learnt quite a lot from it.. especially learning about dealing with the kids. the kids need lots of patience and effort before they can trust you and share their joy with you. and i learnt a bit of sign language!! hahahz... i should try to learn more sign language if i have the time... its really quite interesting... hahahz..

oh... you should try coaxing kids of bed... like what yiwei said on his blog.. its really quite difficult to get kids to go sleep... you attend to one kid.. the other kids will call you.. you will just end up running here and there! hahahz.. then you have kids going toilet and you have to accompany them there... shout in the toilet to ask them why they are taking so long in the toilet.... watch naked kids running around in the toilet... waiting 20mins for a kid to finish brushing his teeth... wow.... i think i can never get to experience all these if i didnt go for the camp.. hahahz...

7th to 15th Dec

well... i went for a 9days 8nights vietnam tour with my family!! it was quite fun actually.. except we had some problems with some hotels... but i guess the most fun part was trying to communicate with the ppl there!! hahahz.. cos not everyone understand english there... and even if they know.. its really those simple english... we have to point here point there for them to understand what we want.. and they also have to point here point there for us to understand what they are saying.. hahahz... well.. i dun have photos yet... havent uploaded the photos from the cam to my com yet... but i guess i will post them on facebook.. hahahz... maybe just post a few here...

da lat and mui ne are really must go places!! hahahz.. da lat is very cooling.. like genting like that.. we almost froze to death the first day we reached there (at about 5am)... all the hotels there dont have aircon installed one.. but you dont even dare to open the windows cos its already so cold in the room when the windows are shut! hahahz.. mui ne has nothing much.. except for a very nice beach!! especially when the resort i was staying is just one step away from the beach! hahahz...

i will try to post photos up here if i remember! hahahz...

 

16th to 17th Dec

well.. i spent these 2 days trying to pack my room... and even till now... the room is still in a bad state... hahahz... i realised my storeroom has no more space for me to put in the stacks and stacks of papers that i tied up altogether.. hahahz...

look at the stacks of papers that i have piled up over these 2 years!! and look at the 11 files at the side... i wanted to file everything up in proper files... but after using 11 files i realised i dun have enough files at home... hahahz... so i end up tying everything up with strings.. hahahz..

and even after i had clear the stacks and stacks of paper... MY BOX IS STILL FULL!!! i seriously dunno how i managed to accumulate so much stuff in just 2 years!!

and i am going to have a hard time trying to finish packing by 6jan! hahahz...

 

18th Dec

well.. i was bored and tired of packing at home.. so i went to school to find stuff to do! hahahz... initially went back to mt sinai wanting to collect back my lock.. but i found out that all the lockers are dismantled already!! and my lock in gone.. and after that took mrt back to tanjong rhu... haiz...

well.. i spent quite a lot of time in the temporary mini library chatting! hahahz..after that moved on to watching hk dramas... after lunch i went to see the hall and helped to check on the pa stuff that the contractor handed over... and we rejected lots of stuff: spoilt new mike stand, mike holder that cannot fit any microphone, shotgun mike with no sponge, etc...

after that i started walking around the school and i saw the kindergarten chairs that i used!! hahahz...

does it look alike to your kindergarten chairs?!?! hahahz... i seriously have no idea who chose this weird coloured chair.. hahahz... that person must have missed his/her kindergarten days a lot... hahahz...
